Tds(Resolution for overbooked challan)

21 September 2016 My one of tds challan got overbooked by rs 18500 and now i want to move deductee of rs 12800 from the overbooked challan to a fresh challan having balance rs 15000. Can i move the deductee of rs 12800 to another challan or i have to move the all deductee with rs 18500?

21 September 2016 Hi,

Kindly do the rectification through online TRACES portal for easier rectification. In case of wrong/overbooked challan, you can alter the same. Kindly select the Challan correction option and alter the amounts matched against that challan. Kindly refer this ppt for better clarity.

21 September 2016 I had already filed tds return through traces with above mentioned question , but my statement got rejected, mentioning insufficient balance, wheras i moved deductee of rs 12800 against challan having balance rs 15000.
