TDS on commission

This query is : Resolved

20 October 2008 Whether TDS is applicable on commission paid less then Rs. 2500/- at a time to a person to whom more then that amount has been paid in aggregate during a year?

20 October 2008 If it is not known to you at the first time of payment, whether more will follow, You will have to make up the non-deduction in the subsequent payments.

23 October 2008 yes you have to deduct the TDS @ 10.3% or 11.33% once he crossed Rs.2500 PA. so 1st time if payee has not crossed 2500 then no need to deduct TDS. but once he crossed the limit i.e., 2500 you have to deduct on Total amount i.e., (1st bill+next bill)*10.3 or 11.33 as the case may be.

20 November 2008 You have to deduct TDS on the entire amount (once the same exceeds RS. 2500/-)p.a per party.
