Mr. X an employee of A Limited joined in July 2010, previously he worked in B Limited. B Limited had submitted a salary Certificate wherein income and deduction of Mr. X had been shown. Considering the income of B Limited, A Limited computed income tax liability of Mr X which is around say Rs 12000 out of which B Limited had deducted Rs 8000/- and A Limited is to deposit Rs 4000. Now when A limited will submit the return they have to show 12000 as total tax liability whereas they have actually deposited Rs 4000/-, is there any column available in return where the tds already deducted by B Limited Rs 8000/- will be shown? Otherewise, there will be a mismatch of actual liability shown by A Limited and actual payment of A Limited.

Previous employment salary and TDS need to be consider only for tax calculation. In tds return and Form 16 - only the present employer salary and tds need to shown, so there is no necessary to show the TDS deducted by previous employer
Can you please be more specific. In the return & Form 16 we will show his Total tax liability as Rs 20000/- and tax deducted and tax deposited will be shown as Rs 4000/-. Is my understanding right? if "yes", how the present employer will justify about the shortfall it is deducted by the previous employer and this not on account of short deduction?
