25 February 2012 My client is the proprietor of a firm which is auditable under sec 44AB. now my client is starting a new business which is not under the firm name but his individual name. all expenses relate to the new business will not be the expenses of the firm but under his individual name. then will he be liable to deduct TDS on payments made for that business for services rendered by service providers?

25 February 2012 there can be only one PAN for an assesses.
however he can multiple TAN numbers for separate businesses.
