If the due date of deposit of TDS is a Sunday or holiday, can we deposit it on the next working day? Will it be treated as compliance of law? Please also refer specific provisions.

IF IT IS SUNDAY OR DECLARED HOLIDAY YOU CAN MAKE PAYMENT ON DAY BEFORE DUE DATE. FOLLOWING DAY IS ALLOWED IN CASE OF EMERGENCY HOLIDAY.

No, you have to deposit the tax on or before the due date. Even if it is sunday or holiday you have to make payment on or before due date. In case of filing returns, if the last day is sunday or holiday then you can file the return on the next day. There is a circular issued by the CBDT which is only applicable for filing of returns but not applicable to payment of tax.
