I AM A TRADER, CAN I DEDUCT THE TDS ON FREIGHT PAID TO TRANSPORTOR U/S 194C OR NOT IF YES WHAT PERCENTAGE

If you are an individual and your sale/turnover in F.Y 2008-09 exceeds 40 lacs then only you have to deduct TDS.
If yes ( turnover exceeded 40 LACS in Fincial year 2008-09)
then:
If you get the PAN of the transporter you need not deduct TDS w.e.f 01.10.09, if PAN of Transporter is not available then
Deduct @ 1 % if transport operator is Individual/HUF
Deduct @ 2 % if transporter is Partnership Firm/Company/Other
If yes ( turnover exceeded 40 LACS in Fincial year 2008-09)
then:
