Service Tax Applicability on Rent on immovable property.

20 March 2010 I just want to clear the concept of Service tax on Rent on movable property such as Motor Car.

Suppose company paying rent to director against his personal motor car which is used by him as provided by company. Since please suggest a solution to my query, whether service tax will be applicable to such rented car.

20 March 2010 If vechicle owend by director then receiving rent from company is his perquisite or part of CTC. In that case Service tax will not be applicable. If director providing car to company for office use then director has collect service tax from your company. Regards

20 March 2010 Ur query is for Rent on immvable property and query is for renting of Motor Car which is movable property. Service tax will not be leviable under that head but could be levied as renting a cab
