31 March 2009 We already registered in tour operator category, wer undertake inbound and outbound. but we ask to other tour operator they said there is no need to pay service tax, we are not filed 1 1/2 year return. there is no idea about the service tax about the tour operator. Please help in this query at the earliest

03 April 2009 Please let us know what exactly you do. Whether registered in any other category. There are a number of Tribunal Judgements which have held that when the contract is for pick up and drop from airport etc there is no liability.
In this category there are a number of varying practices. Many representation have also been made by local associations asking for clarity.
