Return knowledge

This query is : Resolved

09 March 2012 I have missed to file my returns for last three years continuously because of my frequent job change and i lastly filed my return for the FY 2007-2008.During the last three years, my income was not much more. I now plan to take a home loan to purchase a house for me for which last three years ITR is required. My question is whether i can file the last three years ITR now with penalty, if any, or i can file for last year? Please help me.

09 March 2012 You can file only for AY 11-12, that too before 31.3.12, if you want to avoid penalty.

You can also file for AY 10-11, but penalty of Rs. 5,000/- may be levied for late filing of return.
