Reimbursement for Medical Expenses upto Rs. 15000

This query is : Resolved

07 January 2010 In light of abolition of FBT, does the tax exemption on reimbursement of Medical Expenses to the extent of Rs. 15,000, still continues or not?

Can we accept the submission of medical bills against this reimbursement and consider it as tax exempt while computing the Income Tax for salary ?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Raghu

07 January 2010 Yes it is eligble for deduction from salary till Rs.15,000 even though FBT has been abolished and for claiming the same employee has to submit the Medical Bill to his/her employer
