Regarding Registration

My client had a TIN under COT since 2006.
In April, 2010 he has amended his name inplace of the firm name(prop) under COT. He has been issued the COT Registration Certificate which says its valid from April, 2010 till cancelled. Now my questions are :
1) whether i have to consider the registration from 2010 or 2006?
2) How about the VAT audit?

you need to consider the year 2006 only.
because in 2010 you have done only amendment not the new VAT reg.
and for COT there is no VAT audit becuase in the COT the turn over ristricted to 25 lakh in a year as per KVAT act 2003.

But... i have also done amendments for TIN like change in name, etc, (am telling about others) but there the certificate given says that the certificate is valid from .....(the original date of reg.).
But in this it is not so.
So am confused..
