You have not mentioned the state to which it pertains. However,if the reassessment is done for not filing of returns or incorrect way,then it can be reopened.The assessing authority can also reopen the order issued by him when he finds some error leading to some loss of revenue or otherwise.If no such link is found to rectify,a best judgment/exparte order it has to go to appeals for relief.You may contact the assessing officer for a possible chance....mjk
