My question is whether an Employee can contribute more than 12% as PF contribution ? In that case what is the share of Employer's contribution towards PF?

09 June 2011 yes he can do so. Employer mandatory contribution is restricted to 12 % only.

So anything above 12 % will go into Voluntary Contribution.
