04 February 2016 What is Professional Tax & ESI .. & On what basis it is calculated on Salary ? Is there any Exception . ?.

04 February 2016 Professional tax is a tax collected by the state government on all professions. Professions include business, shop, manufacturing, salary employment and so on. The rate at which it will be paid will be based on the act in that state and based on the type of profession. ESI is for all employees whoose salary is less than Rs.15000 employer pays certain amount and employee also contributes certain amount. Employer pays 4.75% where as employee pays 1.25%

11 February 2016 Esi to be deducted on gross salary ceiling limit Rs.15000, Esi to be deducted employee @1.75%% & employer share 4.75% .above Rs.15000/- exemption..

PT will be deducted on Salary each state fixed there own slab.
