16 July 2012 Hi ,
For the year 2012-13 I had my gross income as what was my PF accumalated(I was not employed during the year). My service duration was under 5 years and hence TDS was deduced from the amoutnt. However the total amount falls short of the exemption of Rs 1,80.000 , so can I now file IT return and claim for the Refund of the TDS amount ?

Please suggest

17 July 2012 You will file ITR 1.

Since your income is less than Rs. 1,80,000 you will get refund of the TDS.

17 July 2012 yes, i agree with the expert.. you will get your refund. To receive it early, file online return with ITR 1. Mention Account number, MICR code of your branch etc properly.
