15 July 2011 if a person has pan no. from chennai and he electronically files his return from delhi then whether it will be accepted at income tax ward in chennai or at delhi. in case he receives a notice for assessment then hearing will be conducted at chennai or delhi.

15 July 2011 While uploading a return Income Tax Department is not concerned where from you are loading the return.

The assessment is only done at Chinnai as his address is that of Chinnai.
