What is Official Gazette ? Is this a daily type of newspaper or it is published occasionally whenver govt want to officially announce or notify anything. Please clear it in common language, don't use legal terminology.

The official Gazette is an authorised legal document of Government of India containing the mode of operations under the law of the land.
Various Notifications and other announcement made by the Govt. are published by this department and are printed by the Government of India Printing Presses regularly.
OG falls under the Department of Publication and is headed by the Controller of Publications.
The are various categories of publications and for each category the periodicity is pre-determined. The periodicity of the publications is weekly, monthly or quarterly and extra-ordinary.
