Hi sir
Can any one clarify me that my client got notice on feb 2014 that you are not filed your income tax return for the Financila Year 2011-2012 eventhough there is no income..
Please guide me on this.

Normally Notice is received if
1) ITR for prior year was filed.
2) Deptt has something on record to believe that ITR must be filed.
In first case, reply them that you are not liable to file ITR u/s 139.
In second case, verify records and take necessary actions.

Why to file NIL return if you are not liable. Simply give reply by writing letter to AO
