03 June 2010 Hi all

the new TDS notification issued on 31.05.2010 requires a government deductor to file TDS returns monthly in new form 24G within 10 days succeeding the month in which tax is deducted.

and this new provision is applicable for the tax deducted on or after 01.04.2010.

my query is, how will the returns for the month of April and May 2010 will be filed?
on old system i.e. quarterly or on monthly basis.

please clarify

03 June 2010 As per Notification 24G should be filed monthly only even April/May also

04 June 2010 if monyhly return is to be filed for April and May then what is the last date for filing.

also the new form 24G is not yet issued by the department. how is ir possible to file the return for these two months.

04 June 2010 you need to wait up to the Department give the form 24G details then file monthly (Including Apr/May)
