Liability to pay gst

Kindly clarify that if i take voluntary registration under gst (composition scheme) on 20th August 2017 then do i have to pay tax on the turnover from 20th august 2017 (i.e registration grant date) or from 1st july 2017 (i.e GST implementation date)?
