Invoice number series for retail and tax invoice

05 June 2014 Can I use one single series for Retail and Tax Invoice. For Example
Invoice No 01 is Retail Invoice.
Invoice No 02 is Tax Invoice.
Invoice No 03 is Tax Invoice.
Invoice No 04 is Retail Invoice.
Can I do this ?

12 June 2014 yes, you can use this series.
in cases where excise invoices are raised, Mfg units have to inform to excise authorities about series of first invoice and last invoice expected to raise in year, and they raise both Tax invoice and retail invoices.
so in my opinion there is no problem in series.

12 June 2014 what is the best way to generate invoice numbers for.
1) Generate invoice number separately for both Retail and Tax Invoices. For exampls:
R01 for Retail Invoice
T01 for Tax Invoice

2) As mentioned above Keep a single Series

3) Or any other way.

12 June 2014 you may opt it, but i think there is no need of, in single series it can be done.
since i nowhere read about series of invoice is concern.
