Interest on deposits in saving accounts

17 April 2015 Sec. 80TTA deduction of Rs. 10000 in aggregate to an assessee in respect of int on saving accounts with bank, co-operative soc, post office Sec. 10(15)(i) deduction of Rs. 3500 on post office saving bank interest can we claim both i.e. Rs.13500

17 April 2015 under sec 80TTA 10,000 is limit but if there is independent exemption available then u can take if ur eligible.

17 April 2015 Sec 10 defines the income which do not form part of Taxable Income. Whereas Sec 80TTA is a deduction section. You can use both of the sections to get maximum benefit.
