Can anyone please help me understand who are the latest top CA firms in India and how are they ranked?

Are they ranked on the basis of revenue, no. of clients??

20 May 2014 as such there is no official ranking system. but informally, EY, KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, BMR, Grant Thornton, etc ranking among the top in revenue as well as client base.

20 May 2014 after that it is a sea of firms...most of the firms have a local footprint and it is hard to identify their actual revenues as we all know most of the revenue is rarely booked in firm's books.

20 May 2014 I agree, there are numerous firms after the elite league.

I am looking for top 20/50 CA firms pan India. All I could find through a Google search were list of firms with no basis of ranking.

Nonetheless, some top firms at a local level(for metro;s- Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad) would also help.

20 May 2014 well honestly, what you find on google is more or less the only data available.

on a broader basis, check for two things: year of incorporation and number of partners..this info is available on ICAI website.
