GSTR-9 Maximum Late Fee?

19 March 2024 I want to know what is maximum late fee is for FY2020-21 and 2021-22? Suppose i have turnover around 3cr in both year then what is maximum amount i need to pay. If possible please share circular number so that i can show it to my ca.

Is it 3cr * 0.5% in both year?

20 March 2024 Penalty Norms When You Miss the Due Date of GSTR-9 Filing
As per the penalty provisions of the GSTR-9 annual return form, the taxpayer has to pay Rs. 200 per day as a penalty of which Rs. 100 consists of SGST and Rs. 100 for CGST. Also, it is to be noted that the total penalty cannot exceed 0.25% of the total turnover on which the said penalty is being levied....
From the financial year 2022-23 onwards, Taxpayer has to pay Rs.50 per day as the penalty of which Rs 25 consists of SGST & Rs.25 consists of CGST in case of Turnover up to Rs. 5 crores. In case of Turnover exceeds Rs.5 crore late fee would be Rs.100 consisting of Rs. 50 for SGST & Rs.50 for CGST

20 March 2024 0.25% per act or total 0.25%?

13 August 2025 The 0.25% cap is per Act (CGST & SGST separately).
So total maximum is 0.5% of turnover, combining CGST and SGST components.
That is why the image you saw shows 0.5% as combined maximum.
