QUERY ABOUT KARNATAKA ENTRY TAX: We have purchased Capital goods into our factory located in Bommasandra Industrial Area, Hosur Road during 2005 and 2006 from Bangalore. Does this attract Entry Tax?

no entry tax because capital goods purchasing and utlising in same state.

But VAT office is saying that if the capital goods are bought outside the local area even if within the state attracts ENTRY TAX. Is this correct? Where can I get the boundary definition of local area?

yes in karnataka entry tax imposed to make up loss of octroi abolished. therfore vat officer correct saying within the state attracts ENTRY TAX.
