01 August 2012 An NRI person wants to become director for
INDIAN Company,i would like to kindly know the process and requirements for obtaining of DIN and If any RBI approval required if so please let me know the process and requirements

For obtaining of DIN of NRI, no need to take approval from RBI.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR DIRECTOR IDENTIFICAATION NUMBER (DIN)

1. 2 Passport size photo
2. ID Proof
3. Residence proof
4. Mother Name
5. Date of Birth
6. Email ID
7. PIN Code
8. Father Name
9. Phone Number
10. Copy of Pan Card

Additional information/ documents required in case of a foreign national?

Details of a valid passport should be filled in form DIN-1 and a certified copy of same should be attached with DIN application. All supporting documents including photograph should be certified by the Indian Embassy or a notary in the home country of the applicant or by the Managing Director / CEO / Company Secretary of the company registered in India, in which applicant is a director.
