EXPERTS, My query is that in my form 16 which was manually prepared by my employer is showing gross total income 2,42,640 and deduction under 80c is 8275 and tds as 2375 where form 16 which was downloaded from traces is showing as follows: Amount Paid=2,17,808 TDS Deducted=2375 and ITR 1 we need to mention tds and salary as per the form 16 downloaded from traces my question in itr 1 which amount should i show as income from salary 2,42,740 or 2,17,808 .Reply Urgent Thanks in Advance

You calculate the gross amount received by you from your employer. Show the same in your return of income.

Keep aside form 16 as well as traces, since they are contradicting with each other OR they are not duly reconciliable at your end.
So? Compute the salary as per your own calculation and put that figure in ITR. It is presumed that the receipient of salary is in a better position to calculate the EXACT figure of what s/he earned during the year.
