Deduction u/s 80gg

30 July 2013 hello, i get my salary as per the provisions of sec 17(1)and i want to claim deduction for rent paid under sec 80gg..
as sec 17(1) does not include HRA.
can i claim the same?
and if yes, is it mandatory to have form 10BA?

pls suggest...

31 July 2013 Incase there is no HRA portion in your salary, then you are eligible to claim deduction u/s.80GG. need to fill and have Form 10BA mandatory, but no need to file along with return, keep ready and produce when the department demands
