My wife and me had paid a family floater medical insurance premium worth rs 20000/- from our joint account. Can both of us take the benefit of deduction under section 80D.

06 May 2010 Agreed with Mr. Sanjay Gupta. Either of u can claim exemption u/s 80D.

If u have paid seperately from ur seperate a/c then only both could have claim the deduction.
