Is there any provision in the West Bengal VAT act that if we have purchased the good from the unregistered seller we are required to pay VAT or any other tax to the state government.
Assumption: We have consumed such goods in our business i.e. we have not sold such goods and thus goods never get taxed.

I wanted to know whether we are require to pay any tax on the purchase or nor if we are purchasing any goods from unregistered dealer which we will consume in our business i.e. we are not going to sell those goods.

By the combined reading of sec 12 (1)(a) and Sec 22(4)(a)to(i) of the VAT act 2003, I could make that if we have purchased any goods from unregistered dealer and consumed in the business the we are not require to pay tax on such purchase.
So sir, please clarify me this problem.
