18 April 2010 If benifit arises to assesse,Is there any option for assesse to charge long term capital gain at the rate of 10%(i.e without indexation ) instead of 20%(i.e with indexation ) on any immovable property, for eg:-house property.

if yes under which provision,because i didn't found in AHUJA'S BOOK.

ITS URGENT.

18 April 2010 The referred option is not allowed for immovable property. In other words the so called option is for listed securities/units/zero coupon bonds vide proviso to section 112(1)(d) of the Income tax Act,1961.
