21 August 2011 There are two companies A Private Limited and B Private Limited. These two companies having their PAN and TAN. If B Private Limited is merged in A Private Limited in a scheme of merger, can B Private Limited can cancel its PAN and TAN. If yes when? whether after merger or before merger. You are kindly requested to advise regarding the detailed procedure for cancellation of Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Deduction Account Number (TAN).

23 August 2011 In merger the company merging with another company is lost its identity and in this situation PAN and TAN will be useless so need to surrender.
