Can TDS credit be taken ??
Amount Invested in a company Rs. 200000 on FEB 2012,
TDS Certificate issued in FEB 2013,
Amount Recevied with INTT + Principal in account on FEB 2013
Can TDS Credit be taken as TDS was Deducted in the FY 2011-12 BUT Payment (Intt + Principal) was Received in the FY 2012-13

My name is Ram and i'm preparing for CA Final 2nd grp for this may 2013....i got 2nd grp pending....also i'm taking 2nd group for first time...can anyone please give guidelines regarding preparation for 2nd grp...i started DT with T N Manoharan sirs text...i'm bit worried about IDT,i'm totally confused regarding the approach to subject....i got time for preparation from today....
Mr. A is an Individual Indian Resident working in Bank.
If he give Rs.20000/- per month as Gift to his wife by cheque through salary account.Gift Deed is also prepared.
My question is now:-
Is Mr. A's Wife Rs.240000/- in twelve month received from his Husband is taxable in India.
I wana know abt any good short course is der...like certificate courses...in finance basically..but except CFA..too expensive :p
Cima is management accounting..so nt really growing interest as nt related to finances..advise plzz!!!

If an assessee has got a leasehold right to a land & if he sold such right to some other person then no govt valuation is exist for sale of such right then sec 50C of IT act will apply or not - as the consideration or govt value which ever is higher - then govt valuation is missing & only sale consideration of such right will be considered as value for capital gains.
Is it so or not?

If an assessee has got a plot of Land which he purchased for Rs.500000/- & subsequently he given that land to a promoter for construction - now after 2 yrs. the construction has been completed, Then the promoter has given to that assessee a complete residential flat which has got a sale value of Rs. 2000000/- absolutely free of cost which is the consideration for such land he used to build other flats sold to other persons - again after 1 year such assessee has sold the said flat - for a sum of Rs.2200000/-
Then when the Tax incidence will occur in the hands of the assessee
1. when the promoter has given that flats possession to that assessee
2. or when the assessee has actually sold the flat to some other person.

A CA who is practicing under a proprietorship firm got Allahabad Bank branch audit last year & that was his first audit after a long gap - now this year RBIs panel list has shown him ineligible - without showing any further reason - now what is to do or is there any place where such ineligibility reason can be asked or any grievance cell if any etc.

i have received demand notice dtd 27.2.10 for ay 08-09 under sec 143(1)wherein a demand of 2191/- under sec 234b has been made.
my total tax liability was 126178
tds deducted was 94725
self assessment tax 29000 in 28/7
so liability under 234b works out as
126178-94725=31453
31453*1%*4=1258
pl advise whether my calculation is right or 2191/- calculated by it.
please help
