what is the meaning of letter of credit & how many parties are involved in this.

it is my request to all the members that please elaborate how the interest rate is decided by the banks.

i came to know that if a exporter avail PCFC in foreign currency then the rate of interest is 5% to 6% and if it is availed in indian rupees then its rate of interest is 13% approximately. why it is so.

what are factors that affect interest rates.

i will be grateful for guidance in this respect.

Kindly throw some light on the following problem:

My client has a man power recruiting firm based in Delhi. His employees are deputed in states of Gujrat, WB, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Will he be liable to Professional Tax considering the follwing:
1.There is no professional Tax in the state of Delhi.

2. The salary is being paid from Delhi and the employer has no place of business in any of these states.

Please reply asap.

I am a BCom & i am not a member of the institute. I want to become a partner in a CA firm. I have heared that by fulfilling some conditions, a non member can enter in to partnership (some sort of affiliation) in a CA Firm. A friend CA is ready to take me as a Partner to assist him, on a profit sharing ratio, but we don't know the regulation of ICAI & the necessary forms in this regards.

I am a CS student
& shall i use the CS logo where ever requried.

i have passed my cpt examinations and joined for articles as per the guidelines of ICAI followed by the procedure of submission of the required forms duly filled for the purpose of registration and the fees through a demand draft with in the due date ie. 02/08/2008 (four months back)i have received a letter for the receipt of the draft at ICAI Chennai, but till date i have not received Registration confirnation letter and identity card even after enquiring about the same many times to the concerned, please help me in receiving the same and is there any problem from the point of view of my articles/exams in future for not receiving the same....... please advise...............

One of our client has paid a huge sum towards participation of Exhibition conducted by CII. Whether the maoney paid as exhibition fee is subjected to FBT

Our CA CLUB has given various clasification in sharing the files.

But I personaly feel that the following categories are also to be added; which is need of the day..!!

a) HR Legal - to share thoughts, information and files as per ESIC Act, PF Act, Factories Act, Bonus Act etc.

b) Copy right, Agmark, Branding etc.

Though all these can be classifed under others...
It is practicaly difficult to locate especially HR Legal..

Hope CA CLUB will accomodate the request..
