Break up of quarterly gains transaction

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to report short-term capital gains (STCG) transactions that result in an overall loss for tax filing purposes. The user was initially unsure how to show this in the quarterly breakdown. They were advised that if there's a loss to carry forward, the quarterly breakdown schedule isn't necessary; instead, one should focus on the 'compute set off' BFLA & CFLA schedules. Despite a validation warning, the user successfully filed their return using this advice.

15 July 2023 In FY 22-23 I had two transactions of STCG nature resulting in an overall loss. how do i show this in quarterly breakdown. i am unable to proceed with filing my return.

15 July 2023 If you have loss to carry forward, no need to fill quarterly break up. Just 'compute set off' BFLA & CFLA schedules.

15 July 2023 Ok thanks very much will try that. The validation however keeps pointing out to my having to fill that schedule.

15 July 2023 That is general warning for all while confirming the schedule, whether applicable or not.

15 July 2023 I have managed to submit and verify my return. Many thanks for that,

15 July 2023 You are welcome.
