Can anybody tell me the procedure of maintaining the books of excise & also the limit upto which excise is exempted.

Own recordsa are sufficient. However the quantitive aspects of product and sale are required for excise.
The limit of exemption for SPECIFIED goods not bearing brand name is Rs 150 Lkahs provided the total manufactured goods in the previous year was less than Rs. 400 Lakhs.
