16 October 2013 I have a choice of joining articleship in a mid firm in Delhi or in Jaipur. My home town is jaipur. so i am confused whether to join in delhi or in jaipur. will I be able to manage my studies in delhi?
please suggest?

16 October 2013 It always better to do articleship in home town,
There are good firms in Jaipur too..
My suggestion would be Jaipur as nowadays lots of coaching centers and Institutes are open up,

You wont have to face any problem regarding studies..

16 October 2013 See, Delhi has been the hub for coaching institutes. So preparation won't be the issue.

You need to see what sort of exposure you are looking for during articleship. And that is not dependent on the place you work. There are hundreds of firms in big cities who offer nothing to their articles.

So choose the firm with wider exposure possibilities.

But as Aryan said, remaining in hometown can be beneficial. family support is important. but it should not be the base criterion.

16 October 2013 but how can i judge that a particular firm will provide me exposure or not. its only after you join a particular firm and start working there you come to know about that firm. In jaipur most of the firms are not having any big audit. they are mostly having audit of sole proprietor's and not of any big company. So will it provide me the exposure of corporate world?
and the firm in delhi is also a mid size firm and i am not aware of the exposure it will provide to me.
so how can i judge?

16 October 2013 You need to do research about it. Why no anonymously ask about the two firms on caclub itself. This will give u some idea

16 October 2013 i want to ask if i opt for the delhi firm, then will it be difficult for me to manage both the articleship and studies over there? because i will be away from my home town or its not that difficult?
and i want to ask one more thing that i am persuing b.com(pass course) as well from jaipur. so can i continue my b.com(pass course) in regular or i have to shift to correspondence or i will have to leave the b.com??

16 October 2013 1. Most of the students come to Delhi, Mumbai, Indore to pursue their articleship and studies. Managing both is always a tough task. But I always prefer that articleship should not be done only for the sake of it. Articleship should always be done to gain practical knowledge and get a wider perspective. So the struggle is part and parcel of a CA life. If you want to succeed, then be prepared for hard work.

2. it shall depend on whether there is any attendance requirement in your college. If they don't insist on attendance, then you may continue with it. no need to change. many students from rajasthan just go back to hometown during exam days.

16 October 2013 so sir, doing articleship in delhi will give me an extra edge over other students who are doing it from jaipur?

16 October 2013 depends on whether u intend to learn anything from articleship or just to do articleship to comply with ICAI guidelines. Its all your prerogative. A good firm will give you the exposure. Its for you to make good of it.
