Steps for Changing Registered Address Convene a meeting of trustees and pass a formal resolution approving the change of address. Prepare a supplementary/amendment deed reflecting the updated address and referencing the original (or true copy) trust deed. Register the supplementary deed with the local Sub-Registrar's office where the trust was originally registered. Notify the Registrar of Trusts and update the PAN database using a PAN correction form, and update address on the income tax e-filing portal. If the trust has FCRA registration, file Form FC6 at the Ministry of Home Affairs portal to inform them of the address change.

Steps for Changing Trustee Member Pass a resolution by the trustees for the change/removal/addition of trustee(s). Prepare a supplementary deed recording the new trustee details and amendments to the trust governance structure, referencing the trust deed or true copy. Register this supplementary deed at the Sub-Registrar’s office. Update the records with Registrar of Trusts and notify any relevant authorities (like PAN, Income Tax Department if 12A/80G registration exists).

All amendments—change of address or trustee—must be registered at the local Sub-Registrar’s office where the trust was initially registered. Also notify the Registrar of Trusts, and update with Income Tax Department and Ministry of Home Affairs (for FCRA trusts), as applicable. Use the notarized true copy for the registration process if the original deed is lost, as most authorities accept a true copy for amendments and legal filings if the original is unavailable.
