18 August 2012 Dear Experts,
An assessee whose one half leg is artificial, can take deduction of Rs. 50000/- or he can take deduction of Rs. 1 lac u/s 80U.
Please advise me.

18 August 2012 You can claim the deduction of Rs. 1,00,000 if the certificate is obtained from the medical authority in the the prescribed form in this regard

and if return is filed electronically then where to submit certificate of doctor?

19 August 2012 No need to file any certificate in case of efiling. If called for in 143(3) proceedings it is required. You can claim under 80U in Schedule VIA in ITR.
