09 March 2009 u/c VI A u/s 80D what is the maximum amount that can a assessee claimed as deduction.

09 March 2009 Sec. 80D is a deduction for medical insurance premium
Ceiling Limit is
1) Rs.15000/- for Assessee and his/her spouse, dependant parents and dependant childrens OR
Rs.20000/- if Premium paid for all or any of above who are above the age of 65 yrs (i-e Senior citizen)
2) if Premium paid by Assessee is for Parents who are senior citizen then he is eligible for additional deduction of Rs.15000/-
