My mother is retired employee of State Government of Maharashtra. Is monthly pension received is exempt from tax.

Please advise me... Thanks in advance

03 September 2016 Sir, uncommuted pension that you receive us fully taxable
But commuted pension in case of govt employee or employee of local authority is fully exempt if commutation is as per their rules
