I HAVE AN DOUBT THAT CST & VAT IS sAME r THEIR IS A DIFFERENT IN IN BETWEEN VAT AND CST .

03 October 2013 while VAT is governed by state laws ,CST is governed by central govt laws.Both are not same.role of VAT is limited to dealings within the state whereas role of CST extends to inter state dealings.Further you can't utilise the credit of CST for paying your VAT liablities
