Dear sir Please clear following:- we are issuing one bill of restaurant at cash bill counter:- food and beverages Rs.100.00 Add: Service tax 40% of 14.5% on Rs.100.00 5.80 Total 105.80 Add: VAT (in Raj.) 14.50% This is chargeable on Rs.100/- or Rs.105.80 Please reply with notification etc. or case laws.

in certain states vat is chargeable on ST also, In Rajasthan vat will be charged including ST i.e. in your example vat will be chargeable on Rs.105 80/-
