Valuation of shares

This query is : Resolved

09 March 2010 How does one value shares which are unquoted?
How does one value govt securites?

17 March 2010 For valuation of shares that are unquoted, a combination of the NAV at Book values and NAV at Market Price of investments and fixed assets to the extent available, can be used.

I presume that the company is not a group company and data for future earnings is not available.

For government securities, most securities are traded and hence market value is available from most trading houses.
