threat of legal action on my resignation in private company

15 March 2010 When I joined a private company I signed a 6 months contract. Now that it has been around one year and I got a better opportunity I sent my resignation to company but they declined my resignation and gave an threat of legal action against me to recover money spent from me.

Is this legal? Since my contract with company is already over.

15 March 2010 If you have served the period as stated in the legal contract signed with the company, then the company cannot take any action against you.

Just ensure that you do not have any assets ofthe company in your possession and have not taken any loans / advances from the company.
