Tds u/s 194j

This query is : Resolved

21 October 2014 A person deducts TDS @10% u/s 194J for the employee/assessee.
but the assessee has to pay tax at a much lower rate according to slabs.

Then, instead of claiming refund by showing TDS certificate, Is there any other way whereby the Assessee can declare his income from other sources to his employer and then TDS can be adjusted at a lower rate.??
In other words, the employer can directly deduct tax, but at a lower rate; so as to avoid going through the refund process.

21 October 2014 no. under professional payments 10% deduction shall apply. Only way out for you is to apply for a lower deduction certificate by approaching your jurisdictional TDS AO.
