there is no tds rules in vat....tds comes i income tax and it is same throughout india.

Praksh 1st clear what u wana ask TDS or VAT. TDS is same in pan India & VAT differs state wise. TDS is a direct tax & VAT is Indirect.

If work contact value is exceed rs 1 cr; than it is compulsory to deduct tds as per vat act and rate of tds is different according to type of work contract. In civil work contract tds rate is 0.60&

TDS is governed by central, this is not a state wise tax.in case of WTDS this is to be deducted if contract value is more than one crore at specified rate
