my query is, i had wrongly remitted TDS amount in the previous Assessement year. please tell there is any Possibility to change the Assessemnt Yea....

24 August 2010 You can give the Challan correction request to your TDS circle with copy of challan the same acknowledgement copy need to give banker also

24 August 2010 I have tried the above procedure for wrong section mentioned on challan at the time of online payment but still nothing has been amended. However there is no other process also.

24 August 2010 Regarding this,

I met one time ITO tds circle, the reply I got, " You submit the correction letter and get acknowldged and the same copy submit to bankers also. the department due in normal course we will correct"

But my view in this only implication, In case department not done correction, We will get only the intimation for challan not match from the department, that time if you have the acknowledged challan request letter will be the proof for substance the position of the deductor.

24 August 2010 Yes but now a days we do check the status of etds return filing status which states challn mismatched. So what can be done there. Even after follow up with the ITO (TDS) nothing happened. He just states change hoga but i dont know when.
