09 May 2008 As per new notification TDS is not to be deducted on Service tax component of Rent Invoice. This notification comes into effect from which date?

Does not speak of any effective date.

The heading of the Notification is "Clarification ......

Since it is clarificatory in nature, it can safely be concluded that the provision is applicable wef 01/06/07(the date Service Tax was made applicable to Rent, if I recall correctly)
