Sir,
I have been told by my senior that tds shall be deducted on service tax......plz confirm the same supported by a circular or link where i can find it....plz resolve it on urgent basis.

TDS will not be deducted on the amount that is inclusive of service tax.

TDS @ 10% (Assume)
Service tax @ 12.36%
TDS @ 10% (Assume)
Service tax @ 12.36%

Value of taxable service 100000
Add: Service tax @ 12.36% 12360
Less: TDS @ 10% on 100000 -10000
Total amount to be paid 102360
Add: Service tax @ 12.36% 12360
Less: TDS @ 10% on 100000 -10000
